8 Ways of Dealing with Anger
Do I have road rage? Let me put it this way. When I'm behind the wheel, if my middle finger was a gun, all of Orlando would look like the hospital scene in Gone with the Wind.
Peter Sacco's What's Your Anger Type? correctly diagnosed road rage as my main pressure point when it comes to anger and I interviewed Dr. Sacco for this Alternet essay/list 8 Ways of Dealing With Anger. (Another of my all-time favorite pieces was when I got to review Dr. Joseph Shrand's Outsmarting Anger: Defusing Our Most Dangerous Emotion)
Not only do I always find it helpful to review anger books (free therapy) but Dr. Sacco is an interesting guy; he's a therapist with the spiffy hobby of studying the paranormal, having done books and TV on Niagra's Most Haunted, investigating the spookiest places in his home in Niagra, Canada.
It's not one of Sacco's tips but interestingly the paranormal is one if my favorite anger defusers. If I rent horror movies or go to a haunted place when I'm angry I get too scared to be mad.
